    Classical Connections

John Toal presents a special evening of musical and literary performances and selections, resonating with the life and work of Seamus Heaney complemented with some classical favourites alongside a newly commissioned arrangement. This live edition of Classical Connections included performances from composer, Uilleann piper and cellist Neil Martin, Derry pianist Ruth McGinley, harpist Clíona Doris, and current BBC Northern Ireland and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland Young Musicians’ Platform Award Winner- tenor Owen Lucas. This programme commemorated the 10th anniversary of Seamus Heaney's death, and also as a culmination of "Book Week" on BBC Radio Ulster- a partnership between the BBC and Libraries NI.
