    An Triail

Almost sixty years since it was written, ‘An Triail’ is regarded as one of the most captivating and enduring pieces of theatre in the Irish language. Written by Mairéad Ní Ghráda in 1964, it’s a biting social commentary on the status of women and the injustices they faced. With the use of lively extracts from Fíbín’s modern-day production of ‘An Triail’, this documentary explores the text and shares archive material and personal memories about the groundbreaking production, telling the story of a play, and a playwright who had the courage to put society on trial.
