Plijadur an Ijin
“Poetry is something magic. We don’t know where it comes from. It spurts out like a mountain spring.” In this documentary the poet opens up his heart and soul. Bernez Tangi talks about travel, love, sex, humanity, madness, the boundaries of what is normal and what is not. For Nolwenn Korbel “Bernez talks about his own life but his poetry speaks to us all universally.” “I see Bernez as a menhir in the middle of the moorland” says Denez Prigent. Bernez first became known through the group Storlok, the first Breton language rock group which has now become a legend. He is most at home in the poetic medium and it is through poetry that he has managed to overcome the madness that was gnawing away at his mind. He is also a singer himself although his songs are better known when sung by Nolwenn Korbel, Denez Prigent or Brieg Guerveno. He knows how to bring the Breton language alive in his writings, his poems and his songs which are as astonishing as is his gravelly voice. All this brings together the pleasure to be found in the imagination.
