Gresffordd – 90 mlynedd The Gresford Disaster occurred on 22 September 1945 at Gresford Colliery, near Wrexham, when an explosion and underground fire killed 266 men. Gresford is one of Britain’s worst coal mining disasters. Renowned stage, film and television actor Mark Lewis Jones was born and bred a few miles from Gresford colliery and to mark the 90th anniversary since the disaster Mark goes on a journey to discover what really happened, the effect it still has on this close-knit community and how the tragedy has inspired creativity over the years and continues to evoke artistic creations.
