Darren McGarvey: The State We're In
Darren McGarvey, Orwell Prize winning journalist and Scottish rapper, embarks on a deep, unflinching and polemical investigation into the UK’s Justice system. Motivated by multiple news reports that the modern UK justice system is at breaking point he takes a current affairs approach. Combining unique access, counter-intuitive interviews, and charismatic wit he exposes the current state of prisons, prisoners, legal aid, rehabilitation, victim support and justice. Crucially though he also seeks out and champions pioneers making a difference both home and abroad. In Norway he discovers, first hand, some eye-opening approaches to justice that might help re-shape our own.
